replacement iphone arrived today and seems to be working fine. thanks for the app recommendations. i thought I'd respond with what seems good so far. some free, all cheap!

Air Mouse - remote for multiple applications. amazing.

Shapewriter - drag to type. i like it so far

DocumentsToGo - for opening MS Office files

Evernote - grabbing and synching info - still deciding if this is worth it since there's a sub fee if you use it too much...

Fieldrunners - curse you whoever suggested this!

Bloom - Brian eno's ambient music maker

Ocarina - hah! we have a real one so I can already play "Oh Susanna" from memory - scary but true!

Digidrummer - when you have a real drummer in the house, this makes for a fun car trip... sort of..

snow leopard

well i've got the snow leopard disk in the drive and about to install it and then see there's an 'optional' install for Quicktime 7, which I already have. so i decide to go and see what changes with Quicktime X, since Quicktime is the heart of my video editing...

(the iphone is killing me.cannot believe what it does compared to my old palm treo - and what it doesnt do in some respects)... but i'm guessing that a small mac touchscreen tablet will do the trick soon....

lovin' the iPhone

i have to say that the iPhone is a remarkable gadget. setup a breeze. touchscreen amazing. cool graphics. nifty apps. voice recognition. syncing with computer and mobileme and wireless home network in a snap. overall a brilliant piece of work.

now what apps should i get folks.......?

apple pages templates

now that we have a new Mac in the office, I'm planning to wean the staff off the hideous MS Publisher..... I don't use Apple's Pages a lot (tend to use inDesign), but for a quick flyer its great, apart from the fact that most of the templates don't match what I want to do. i know that our staff will need good templates if they're going to use Pages, but i rarely come across good 'free templates'.

so i was pleased to come across the jumsoft website which has all kinds of stuff to go with Pages and Keynote. Most of it didnt interest me a lot, but the Pages Templates did! For US$40 I consider this money well spent. It gives lots of great starting points for funky advertising (50 design bundles).

And the Goodies page has some interesting stuff on it too.

Mac Print to PDF settings

I have long been annoyed by the PDF print settings in the Mac print options.
