at lunch yesterday I told then that the family had given me Billy Conolly's biography and the Monty Python's autobiography as two of my presents (not sure what that says!)
phil (who alsways has a joke) said that Billy Connolly says "If you don't like a guy, trying walking a mile in his shoes.
Then you'll be a mile away from the bastard.
And you'll have his shoes!"
thanks phil. ha.
(today a Peter Sellers DVD arrived from my parents! hmmm... what's next the Goons? the Goodies - who've just been in town....)
You know that the Goodies was never made as a half-hour kids show, right? It was edited down from an hour-long (very) adult show, with more t 'n' a than Benny Hill, and some very clever, but very adult one-liners. If you get the chance, it's worth a re-visit.

I don't think I ever saw the Goodies as a kid. I don't know how old i was, but I certainly understood the adult humour! I think they're brilliant.
