There was some stunning new music produced in 2015, so much so that ti's hard to make a top list of anything. But here's my top 10 and some that almost made the cut.
Tame Impala - "Currents"
Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors - "Medicine"
Seryn - "Shadow Shows" - check out their earlier stuff too!
Punch Brothers - "Phosphorescent Blues"
Daniel Johns - "Talk"
Justin Townes Earle - "Absent Fathers"
Skipping Girl Vinegar - "The Great Wave"
Matthew Halsall & The Gondwana Orchestra - "Into Forever"
Mark Ronson - "Uptown Special"
Richard Thompson - Still
and then there's...
Jess Ribeiro - "Kill It Yourself"
Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell - "The Travelling Kind"
Dave Rawlings Machine - "Nashville Obsolete"
Nick Cave Live - Hammersmith & Albert Hall - and soundtrack to "Loin des Hommes"
The Brilliance - "Brother"
The Unthanks - "Mount the Air"
Sufjan Stevens - "Carrie & Lowell"
etc etc etc
I see your list and offer you mine...

thanks. I look forward to checking out some of those. I had forgotten about Gurrumul and the Alabama Shakes. And the Ryan Adams album. i was underwhelmed somewhat by Sufjan. I liked Wilco...

Sufjan is a mood album, one you really have to have the time, space and mood to sit with.
